How much to paint car?
What would you guys say is the general price range for a paintjob on an A4 B5? i.e. Turning your silver car into a blue one via the application of paint :P
Thanks |
The cost can range all over the place, depending on the paint, who paints it, and how much preparation they do. Expect about $1000-$1500 to respray in the same color (less prep), and $2,000 to change colors for a good paint job. Macco will respray same color but 0 prep for $250-$400 last I saw. They'd paint the chrome and plastic on your car if you didn't prep it first!

ah i see. do you think its worth it? I'm looking at two A4's, a red one and a silver one. The silver is closer to me and a lot cheaper, but the red one has the nicer sport rims and nice paint. I'll just have to wait and see.

That's true. The red one is a 2001 from New York (I'm in Michigan) and is about $8,000, the silver one is a '98 for $5,000 and is about ten miles away from me LOL. Both are the same mileage and the '98 is one owner. f my life haha.

$8k is pretty steep for any B5 unless it's got super low miles or is modded nicely.
|
which is why Im getting the '98..................i think.

Just out of curiosity why are you looking all the way in NY if you're in Michigan? Unless these cars have something unique that you're looking for then you can find some B5's muchhh closer to you.
|
Well that would be that unique feature! There's a few nice looking b5's in you're area though (i couldnt help myself i had to take a look :o)
