I don't think both sides have to be up for that to happen. that happens to me almost every time I remove my wheels and I never really need to jack both sides up. yours spun with only one side up too. can you push the wheel in place on it and put one bolt in the hole as far as it will go and try spinning the wheel and lining it up?

I tried that and it didn't budge. Tomorrow I'll try harder I guess. And then call my mechanic if all else fails.

I feel retarded that I couldn't change a tire... granted its the only time I've ever had an issue doing it.

I'm not sure if this would make a difference but have you tried spinning it out of gear/without the parking brake in?
also is that corner of the car sitting on just that window winder like jack?! I wouldn't trust that at all! I had mine on only that once (on a non smooth surface too) and it slipped away and the car fell on it. luckily I wasn't under the car..
good luck though, hopefully tomorrow you can easily get it in (lol)

i have no idea, but stud conversion ftw... studs and nuts are way stronger and easier to deal with anyway.

try taking your brake guard off, that way you can get a much better grip on the rotor...

the rotor should spin regardless... i think youre talking about the hub.

Dont be afraid to get tough with it, you wont break anything... spraying penetrant or lube into the lug holes is fine, just spray it off with brake clean real good after like tawter said. I would take the brake guard off and never put it back on, if it still wont budge then decompress the caliper with a flathead, maybe pop out one of the brake pads... if it still wont work then hit the rotor with a RUBBER mallet... ive never heard of anyone having this hard of a time with this... it must be really stuck on there...

lol I don't trust it either, so I took all the jacks I could find out of my family's cars to put under overnight. I don't want to leave it on just one just in case.

As for the brake thing, I have not tried that yet, but I didn't have a problem with the other side. I don't want to take the chance taking it out of gear and the parking brake off. Not on the surface it's on.

It's the rear driver's side wheel btw.

What if I spun the hub? I am able to move the hub a little as it sits now. I assume I can line up the holes that way as well...?

I unscrewed all the screws to remove the caliper, but the thing wouldn't move at all. Can I remove the brake guard without removing the caliper?

What I'm confused about is how it shifted and got stuck in the first place. All I did was remove the old wheel.

Thanks for all the help guys, I really appreciate it.

Missed it the first time I read the thread, but seeing that it is the rear and your parking brake is on, I would chock the wheel and leave it in gear. Release the parking brake an you will be able to turn the rotor to the proper position.

I was going to try this first thing in the morning. I suspected this was the case. I put the brake on before the last wheel...

Thanks man.

hahahaha... for some reason i was just assuming it was the front wheel... Im not sure how you cant realize that the break has to be off to get the rotor to turn, but whatever... at least your "problem" is solved.
