Hello fellow Audi Members, im very new at this whole forum thing but can use some good advice.I have a sweet 00Audi A4 1.8 T and unfortunatly i have a stock exhaust and it has a small leak in it. So im just looking to upgrade with a new cool air intake and a exhaust system. So im just wondering what should i get that is sick, and easy to get to? Thanks For the help!!

 

Skip the intake and just get a K&N drop in filter. All your answers will be found in the A4 newbie guide in the main a4 section

 

You could getpackage for your exhaust needssuch as borla, APR, Miltek, and Techtonics -BORING-I will tell you to find a good exhaust shop and bring them a muffler or down pipe that you had your eye on. This might be cheaper and a little more personal... Search for sound clips on youtube or the like to get an idea of the different exhaust notes before purchasing.

 

i just ordered a carbonio cold air intake and apr full cat back exhaust package.

they are easy to install so just order them online and do it yourself so you don't get jipped with labor fee

 

do a custom exhaust its way cheaper

then do a custom exhaust for abotu $250 + the cost of a muffler. have a shop do it.

 

+1 for the airbox mod, me and a buddy of mine knocked it out pretty quickly.

But I would say get a test pipe (or High flow cat if you have emissions) and have a shop weld up a custom exhaust

 

somebody poseted a link to the vw forum, the intake mod. Has anybody tried this?

 

75% of us have. Makes some whooshing; moreso if you are chipped.

 

the mod is alright. no real gains other then louder turbo/dv. i only did it because i was in need of a new filter and i was bored. seems to be quite fine with me! looks good too.
