I want new tires.
I bought my car a little over a month ago and got two new tires put on the front by the dealership because the old ones were a bit chewed up, but the rear tires were ok. Now I look at them and they look like they've seen better days so I'd love to get some new ones. I want all the same tires though obviously, I only say that because I have 2 different sets on my car. Anyway what are some suggestions for really good tires?

http://www.performanceplustire.com/p...822#prodAnchor That exact tire. |
i know your kinda noobie at this shizznit but.. look at the sidewall of the tire. it will tell you ALOT of info. you said they are sunny's. that's a start. next we need the model. the size will be a series of numbers. it will be (the x's mean it could be any number) 2xx/xx/16. we need to know what the x's are and what the the model of the tires are. not to be too mean but this is really basic shit...
as per the link, those tires appear to be summer tread tires, not to be used during the winter with snow and ice. yeah they look cool, but im guessing they aren't good. with tires, as with anything, you get what you pay for. what is the most you would spend on four tires? the least possible is about 300$ the most is over 1000$. |
I assumed they were summer tires. The side of the tire reads "205/55R16 91V". I'm willing to spend upwards of 700 - 800.

with that info i would recommend something onlong this line http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....1=yes&place=85 at 107 apiece, it is greatly under your 7-800 range and will kick the shit out of your sunny's. with that said, i would recommend buying a seperate set of rims. that way you can run summer tires on one set and winter tires on the other. its what i do and a lot of others. if you really wanna hold true to your your 7-800 dollar range, you could get some really high performance tires, but they would would be worthless during the winter, that is assuming you live in an area that see's snow/ice. like is said, the more info the better.

Word. I don't have the money now but I would love to get some new wheels for the spring and summer and then get winter tires and put them on stock wheels for... the winter. I live in Massachusetts so winter can be hell here. Oh the irony. What's a good winter tire? Anything by Bridgestone?

the winter can be hell in mass huh? have you ever been to minnesota? im guessing not... with that said if you looking for a good snow tire the basic norm is bridgestone blizzaks. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....um=055R6BZWS60 your size retails for 105 a piece on tire rack. seriously though, i could get a pair of rims and snow tires locally for 7-800 dollars. since your on stock rims now, just get the blizzaks this fall and buy another set of good rims for the summer. i personaly got goodyear all weathers on my stock 15's for the winter and nexen 3000's on my summer 17" inch rims. for what you are willing to spend there are a lot of options
