01 Audi A4 Quattro Auto. So i just replaced my MAF. A couple days later when i start on a COLD start it idles real rough for a couple seconds, almost like its misfiring, but it isnt. No codes pop up. fluids are all good. just had the plugs replaced, there is no misfire. Turbo just replaced. Thats pretty much it. Any HELPFUL input would be awesome. Thanks

 

1st question, why did you replace your MAF? 2nd, did the old MAF do that? If NOT, put the old MAF back in and see if it still does it...and rough idle for a few seconds...can you explain it better? RPMs bouncing up and down or what?

 

Pulled a code-p0171 immediately after i recharged my A/C and cleaned my K&N air filter. checked all the vacuum lines replaced a valve that didnt look so good. code popped back up. checked the MAF. it was badly corroded. replaced that. no code since. this didnt happen with the old MAF.

i havent noticed the rpms bounce. the motor shakes or jerks around for a couple of seconds then steadies. It doesnt shake real badly like the car is going to fall apart but more than enough that you know somethings up. this only started happening after we drove about 150-200 miles since the replacement of the MAF.

 

How many miles? your injectors might need cleaning...use some bg 44, be careful though, it HAS to be on a FULL tank of gas...it's the only stuff I've ever run across that ACTUALLY cleans injectors.....again, if you have a chance, throw the old MAF in and see what happens.....
