Default Install Multifunction Display from donor car to another ?

Hello,

My old (accidented) A4 has a multifunction display (in the cluster) and my new A4 (same year) does not. Is it possible to install the MFD in my new A4 ? I know i'd have to change the wiper switch and the cluster itself, but is there any computer somewhere in the car, is it prewired ?

Any help, thanks.

you need to list all the information about both cars. you would have to swap the entire cluster from one car to the other, and to do that we need to know more specifics about the cars.

are you talking about the LCD panel that is on 1999.5+ cars? im not exactly sure what display you are talking about. if it really is the same year and model, it should have the same cluster.

I'm talking about the screen between the speed and rpm in the cluster (where you can see the average mpg, etc..) and they're both the same year (1997)

the one WITH the display is a quattro, and my new one is front wheel drive (and does not have the display)

lol that is not an instrument cluster from a 97 a4. that is an S4 cluster. you can tell because it says "S4" on it.

you can put that cluster in, but the milage will not be accurate anymore. i think it should be a drop in replacement but dont quote me.
