Default k03 turbo replacement

ok, so i just picked up a 2000 A4 that needs a turbo. I want to get the car running, not necessarily build a race car, just want a nice daily driver with some pep. so I look on ebay for a k03 turbo and there are loads of companies selling k03 replacement turbos. Anyone got a favorite vendor that is selling a reliable turbo? Any members have a decent turbo leftover from an up grade that they want to sell? It also looks like I will need to replace the oil lines and some gaskets with new parts; reccomendations on a KIT? I was toying with the idea of putting on an offroad test pipe to "test things out" since I'll have the turbo out and I don't have any formal tests the car will be subjected to. would this be worth doing any anyone's opinion?

thanks, this is my first audi, but second 1.8T, I loved my wolfsburg.

thanks all,
B

Note: do NOT buy one from Ebay. They're cheap and crappy imitations that are likely to fail (almost) immediately.

Agreed - there have been been too many accounts over the last few years of them failing quickly.
