Default Keyless Entry For A 96?

Just found this remote on ebay, seller claims that they're programmable and work for 96 A4's, I really want one because I'm sick of using my key to unlock my frozen door. Will this work with my car?

They never made a 1994 A4. That should tell you all that you need right there. Plus, the separate remote fob doesn't include the receiver and all of the wiring and junk you'd need for it.

It says in the listing that the remote is for a 94-97 A4 and A6. I know they didnt make A4's but I thought that those early years were pertaining to the A6. So I'd also need a receiver and all that other stuff just to unlock my doors? That's a bummer because my door locks always freeze so I have to open them from the passenger side.

Simple answer: it's far more work than it's worth.

actually the A4 as far back as i can remember were keyless entry, the reciever and stuff is already there but most of the car sold second hand didnt have the keyless remote, my first audi teh guys told me they didnt get one from the guy that traded it in and the second one the guy told me he had the remote but either he broke it and threw it away or it was somewhere at his place, anyways if you do decide to buy it and are succesful let me know cause i wanna get one too, just make sure the frequency is the same one that you need. im not 100% sure were the reciver is located but it should have all the info oyu need.

My 96 has keyless, but the range is almost nothing and the remote is broke (the part that lets me put it on a key ring) so I don't use it.

I would say skip it but that is just me.

I really would like one, I'm thinking about going with a Viper remote starter/keyless entry, but I have a manual so there's always the concern of me leaving it in gear. Plus they're pretty pricey too.
