Hi, i have an A4 B5 1996 TDI. Sometimes the engine will start but cut out one second later. Eventually after many attemps and jiggling the key in strange positions the engine will stay running. It can be fine for weeks... then the problem occurs at the worst possible moment! I have replaced the key which made the problem less frequent but it still occurs. Someone told me to take off the ignition barell and re-solder the connections! Is this really the solution?! Any helpful help would be greatly appreciated.
