Default Lesson Learned.....

Well my suspension saga continues.......

Upon trying to get my springs and shocks together and being told by 4 shops that it couldn't be done, I now know why. Upon further inspection I come to find out that the setup I bought from someone posting on AudiForums is in fact for a 1.8 FWD and not my 2.8 Quattro. I will be posting items for sale in the Wanted Forums, Bilstein and H&R springs for 96-01 1.8 FWD!!!

I don't know if I was scammed (I feel like I was ) but be careful of Christophorus

Yeah, I know a dude that scams a lot of Honda guys online like this. His name is Eric Climo. Google him sometime.

im not sure what he told you in PM, but the only thing he specified in that thread was that they were for a B5 with quattro. he didnt say 1.8t or 2.8 and that is a question you should have asked before purchase. did you pay thru paypal or check or western union? if he told you they were specificly for a quattro 2.8 but the part numbers match for a 1.8 FWD, that is grounds to open a paypal dispute. if he never specified and you never asked, thats on you then.

I understand your point. I specifically asked through email if it was for the Quattro and he said yes, I had no reason at the time to assume anything wrong. I have since checked the part numbers and the fronts are for a 96-99 FWD and the rears are for 98-00 Quattro as per the Bilstein website.

Check me, I maybe wrong:
Front: F4-B36-2081-H0
Rear: F4-BE3-2622-H1

H&R Springs
What I have 29989
What I need 50396

I have contacted the seller and he forwarded an Ebay listing which can no longer be viewed, so I can reason that maybe the Ebay seller sent him the wrong Shocks in the first place. Did my seller realize this when he sold me everything? That's kinda what I want to know

I had just opened my Paypal account so I didn't have the ability to pay for it thru them, so I sent a Money Order.

I have since been in contact again with the seller and he offered to try and get receipts and invoices if he has them. But he couldn't explain the mix up

do you have any pix? the struts for the rear are pretty different but the front should be the same. either way 1.8t suspension parts will not feel good on a 2.8
