Default limp mode? boost leak?

My audi has been really slow. It has always been slow since I changed the engine. I bought the car with a knocking crank. anyway at idle I get 21vac and acceleration I get 0psi. heres the kicker: my gauge is off, when the car is shut off it shows 5vac. I am not sure what the deal is. I can't go faster than 30mph up a hill (yes it's embarassing). I am actually sitting in it now....wondering what it would be like if it drove normal...lol......

btw 99 a4 1.8t qm

help

No cel or codes. there was one originally because when I put the engine in and connected the cam sensor a pin was not all of the way in, I fixed that and got another sensor just in case, same deal though. it still drove the same before and after that.

If you have no codes/cel then you need to find someone with or get vag com. I've got a sweet hookup for vag com cables if you are interested let me know. I'd start with readapting your throtle body. Or try unplugging your maf to see if the situation improves. It would be rare for a bad maf to not trigger a cel, but the symptoms fit.

I actually replaced the maf with a different one, not new but good. The symptoms were exactly the same afterwards. And also adaped the tb.
one the vag com note, I have the ebay cable, but i can't get it to read anything.

Did you change the com port setting in windows device settings according to which port vag com is looking for?
