Default Lock and alarm problem please help

Hello I'm new to this forum but have been an Audi enthusiasts for quite a long time now and am a proud owner of a 2000 1.8 t. I have a few problems I'm hoping can get sorted out.

First I went away for several months and had my car in storage, and not to my surprise the battery was dead upon my return. No problem i replaced the battery and all was fine except my remote entry did not work. However by turning the key twice to the left on the drivers door it opened everything including all doors, trunk and gas lid.

Now today out of the blue ONLY my door will open via the driver side door and two turns to the left will NOT open the trunk, gas lid or any of the other doors. Also turning the key to lock the doors will only lock the driver side door. One more thing the interior lights do not come on upon turning the car off and taking the key out.

Any help is most appreciated! Thank you!

Check your vacuum pump for the locking system, they are known to fail

See if you have any water in the back left of your trunk where the central locking pump is behind the carpet. Does the pump run excessivley long (it is audible in the back left of your trunk) when you try to open the other doors? A VAG COM would help to scan for codes.
