i have a 99 audi a4. i am having a problem with my locks. when the key is in the ignition it won't let me lock the doors using the switch on the driver side door but it would let me open it. when the key is out of the ignition the lock switch on the driver side door lets me unlock and lock the doors. is this a feature of the car or is there something wrong with locking mechanism

 

that's weird i've nvr noticed that, let me go try brb.

ok here's what mine does
1) when the key is in the ignition and the driver's door is open and i hit lock, it locks all the other doors but the driver's. this is with the car off
2) when the key is in the ignition and the car is started and the driver's door is open, the locks don't work.
3) the locks work normally any other time

 

i don't know what this is. i thought this was a feature of the car
