If you really think running the same boost as everyone else really kills the turbo, wow, just wow. The turbo can do 18-22psi daily for years and years. It hardly effects the life of the turbo

its still putting a lot more stress on it than stock a4's. but as long as you let it warm up and cool down properly, that little k03 can take a beating. you'll want a new turbo before that thing dies on you

you still basically in the turbo efficiency range which doesnt matter if its pushing 10psi or 40psi, the strain wont really change in that range. Sure it spins faster, but thats what it was made to withstand. Push it out of there and thats a whole new thing. Pushing the turbo30 psi and your basically making a grenade

i dont know the limits of the turbo,i doassume that if i push it too far, it will give up on me.

EDIT:

so if i understand clearly, with the 1' billet plug i will have to seal one of the hoses that goes into the stock DV?

And, what spring should i use with the Forge? I believe i have a 8lb spring in it.

the 1" billet plug plugs the hole in the TIP that the recirc side of the stock dv goes to. you can either plug the hose that goes to the tip, or remove that hose completely and plug the hole in the TIP, which is what i did.

THose are the magic words. It when you push the turbo out of its efficiency range where you wear down the turbo. The way to do that is by pushing over 25psi and tightening the wastegate trying to make it hold boost longer. Running 18-22psi daily is nothing for the stock turbo
