I noticed when my fan kicks in, which it does quite often in the summer that it sounds like a damn tornado siren. Is this common? Also at what temp do most the 2.8's run? I noticed mine runs a little hot but not to the point it is scary just hot enough to make me a little uneasy.

 

Mine doesn't sound like a tornado siren or anything, but you can definitely hear it when it kicks on. Mine also runs hot in the summer, especially when i'm sitting in traffic

 

The heat with the combined subtle smell of oil scares me. I have a slight leak somewhere.

 

Yeah I have a "slight" leak too; driver's side valve cover gasket, passenger's side head gasket, oil pan gasket....

 

Glad to know my car isn't the only one that sips oil. I hope mine is just a pan leak.... buuut that would not explain the hot oil smell if it was just leaking from the pan to the ground.
