I've bought new ones except and just cant seem to get these stubborn things off...I don't want to hammer it off or anything thing like that because if the part around the screw gets knocked off and breaks the screw inside the car im really screwed.

anybody have any experience with this or know how to get it off?

Have you tried gripping the hexagonal part and unbolting it from the inside? I had to use an impact hammer (google it if you don't know) to get mine out because they were so stuck. Or you could cut it off with a dremel if you're really careful, just cut it as if you're slotting a bolt head and eventually the hex part should split in two, preferably before the cutting disk reaches the door.

I've got the same car. my solution is just to glue the darn things (old or new) on. If you are doing a nice, re-paint job, you should grind them off and paint it up (I don't know the details of that). But, if you are driving an old, but sweet, car, like I am, i have so many places to spend money better than to concentrate on these lowers. I'm not even sure if I could remove my license plate screws right now with all the street salt exposure, much less expecting these lowers to survive. Oh, I'm cheap but practical (in my opinion). 2cts
