Default Mass air Flow sensor

So I put in a K&N air filter and the next day the CEL came on. I used OBDII and ait said that the MAF was not getting enough air. I did everything the install said to do. could it be oil from the filter getting on the MAF not allowing it to reading the incomeing air. Or could it be I need a new one?

This is a common problem. Most K&N filters are over-oiled from the factory and on top of that, people often oil them again before installing them. Start with some MAF cleaner from Autozone, but you may have to replace the MAF, which isn't cheap. I'd pick up one of those K&N recharge kits, wash the filter with soapy water, let it dry thoroughly and then lighty re-oil it.
