hey, I had this image sitting on my computer of an audi with a matte finish paint job...

(...pretty sure it belongs to a member on this site...)...Anyways, after admiring this for months and now seeing a few more matte-finish jobs in my recent european car mag, I am dead-set on having this paint job. Does anybody know about any possible issues with this finish?? does it feel the same (ie. glossy or smooth) to the touch? I REALLY like this colour and love how it still shines and allows light to bounce/reflect off of it- I want this...Do I need to get like a 3-tier paint or is it some kind of pearl colour or something? Anybody know who this member is and if they're still around(?)...thanks again in advance.

 

I don't know, but that's BEAUTIFUL.

I think it would be VERY vulnerable to scratches.

 

well it is clear coated as well with a matte clear i know they use that so im sure it likes regular paint just don't know TOO much about it

Sineo...I kinda agree that it might be more susceptible to scratches and stuff, but I don't know why....do you?? I don't see why it should be any different than a gloss finish. (congrats on the promo btw!! !)

I really like how the owner has played with the lines on the hood and up to the roof with the gloss paint. Adds so much more than just painting the roof black like an m3.
