metal burrs in intake and intake manifold hoses.
 

ok so the other day i did a service to my car you know oil change, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs and MAF cleaning, when i took out the MAF i saw some metal burrs/powder in the inlet housing so i went and check the hose that goes to the intake manifold and it was a little worst, more metal burrs/powder mixed with some oil.

so my question is, since i am a newbie with turbo engines.
Do i need a new turbo? or why i'm getting metal in my turbo hoses?
what are the side effects of this metal burrs in the hoses?
should i change the inter cooler too including all the hoses?

My guess is that your turbo is creating excess heat, and if that heat isn't dissipating quick enough than it will create malfunctions in any system, be that turbo or n/a. Did you check your old oil filter? Cut it open?

It's possible those metal burrs are coming from your pcv system since they are in your tip, I would personally do three things,
1. Change your oil and look for any metal burrs in the oil
2. Buy a magnetic oil drain plug from ecs
3. Run an oil catch can (or delete pcv and just run the can) and see if that helps

If its not from your pcv system then I'm not sure

Thank you guys, I'll check well this things but I don't think that is going to fix my engine. I did a compression test and results were really low. 110, 100, 70, 80. Wet test come out 170, 165, 110, 160. So now I need a new engine. Fnk sucks.

really the only place you'll get metal from in the intake is your turbo. i got a ten spot that says you are making contact with your turbine, which you should be able to hear. either way id take the boot off and inspect it.

and before you go rebuilding your engine, verify your compression numbers. its easy to mess up

If he was contacting with the housing I would understand the metal in the hose leading up to the throttle body but why would there be metal before the turbo? I don't see how the turbo would shoot metal backwards against the incoming air, I might be wrong though

the better question to ask would be how would he get metal before the turbo from anything? he shouldnt. theres an air filter stopping flow. he really needs to inspect the turbo soon

True, remove the TIP and take pictures of the turbine/housing and look for anywhere were the turbine could have contacted the housing. The metal in the inlet pipe just baffles me, the turbo wouldn't spit metal into in, the pcv is just vapor/pressure which shouldnt have metal in it, and the air filter should stop it. I just don't get it
