Default More than I thought

So I posted last week about the heater core. Since the weather I breaking I decided to just bypass the heater core for now. I thought that would solve the problem of losin coolant. NOPE. Can anybody tell me if there are any trouble spots for this? Also I will be taking off my iCV to clean it because I'm having a rough idle and it dies hen it comes to a stop. Sometimes. Any other suggestions?

Smoke coming out I exhaust for about the first 5 minutes after start up. Head gasket?

Locks won't go down by button so I'll be goin to the pick and pull to get the part. Anybody know what other Audi's or vw's have the same part?

Lastly, there's a noise coming from behind me on the drivers side of the car. I'm thinking wheel bearing as it gets louder as I increase speed.

Add I that I'll be doing new plugs, wires, vac wires, and an oil change.

After all of this. I'll wash the car and finally put it on the road.

that noise in the rear drivers side could be a wheel bearing. drive it around the neighborhood and take some left and right turns. if its a wheel bearing, or possibly CV, it is going to be load dependant. so you will notice it getting louder or quieter depending on which direction youre turning. ex if the drivers side wheel bearing is bad, it will get louder when you turn to the right, when there is increased load on the bearing.

do a4's have a carrier bearing on the driveshaft? ive never bothered to look on mine. if so, i would check that also.

Well it's definitely the drivers side bearing or cv as you say. I assumed it was after taking a left turn and the sound stopped

Ok drove a bit and didn't want it to over heat so came home. Let car sit and cool. At that point coolant was gone. Didn't want to waste anymore coolant so I just poured water in the reservoir. Leaked right out which is leadin me to believe it has to be a hose some where. There's a puddle directly under the reservoir probably from where I missed and another puddle towards the back of the engine. Any suggestions?

Also oil light comes on in turns so I'm assuming it's burni g oil? Could that cause the white smoke from exhaust?

Thanks in advance

Steam rises from the drivers side under the reservoir. Or more like somewhere near the right head and the reservoir any idea what pipe or hose? My next check I think I'll be doing a head gasket job

I have that too where steam rises from behind the drivers side and it's forsure not oil. Anybody have idea which hose or component it could be? I'm not losing coolant as fast but still would like that fix

The oil light flashes? That sounds like an oil pressure problem (right guys?) I was always taught that white smoke is burning coolant.

Do you have any codes?

jeeze its like i am following the doc here lol.

There is the coolant temp sender behind the head with a cheesy plastic clip that holds it in. Mine failed and exploded coolant everywhere while i was drving! Could also be that your resevoir is old and just rotted...but doubtful.

If your head gasket it shot, you will be mixing water and oil to some degree. Definitely check that out. Also, a bad turbo will produce the smoke at startup. Do you have a boost gauge? Ide look into the water test for vaccum leaks as well.

You get your garden hose and spray gently over all possible spots for a leak and if you have one, the engine will respond by choking up a bit. Hope this helps..
