or bad injector(s) ? sounds more of a fuel issue than a leak IMO ... would a little leak cause your car to drop out so often and stall?? IDK but if i had to guess itd be fuel related

if my fuel filter is clogged then its probly from that day my car ran out of gas, and shut off on me, and i coasted into a gas station... i probly sucked some crap up out of the tank and its now in my filter.... how much do the fuel filters cost? or can i just take an aircompressor to my current one and blow it out?

My fuel filter cost 17 bucks from NAPA but I couldn't get it in myself (didn't have the time) so all in all it cost me $240.

The gas tank needs dropped a tad to get the top banjo bolt off the filter. $240 is rape though. I doubt thats your problem though but it couldn't hurt to do it. Fuel filters are never an issue. Audi doesn't even recommend replacing it on their service schedual. I think you have a leak either boost or vac.

boost is the big hoses from your turbo-intercooler piping-throtle body hose and vac is all the small hoses on/around the intake manifold including the black cloth braided ones. Boost leaks are actually pretty rare. It's possible for the turbo outlet hose (bottom of turbo) to slide off. But unless you have an aftermarket FMIC boost leaks arent very common. Try unplugging your maf just for the hell of it and see how it runs (youll get a cel) but see if it still wants to stall and all that.

He didn't have to drop the tank at all; but if he to it would have been like $400 to drop it.

Wow I'd love to know how he did it without lowering the tank.

Another thing... Check the hose that attatches to the rear of the intake manifold for a tear (opposite side of where you T'd in for your boost gauge). I can't remember if pre 00 has it or not but there should be an L shaped hose there that is well known for tearing. Also check the lines connected to and around the N75 valve. It would have to be a pretty obvious crack/tear if your engine is stalling.... Like maybe not even cracked but totaly disconnected.
