Need A Clutch

Hey guys! i recently purchased a 2001 A4 quattro 1.8t5spd from a private party. the vehicle only has 83K on it, but the clutch engauges very high, unless this is normal for an audi, i beleive i need a new clutch. is the clutch mechanically adjustable, or is it automatically adjustable?

Does anyone know how much a clutch for these cars runs for? should i assume the position? lol

many thanks,
Dominick

Nope, you're probably fine. Audis have a very high engagement point. If you want to be sure, get up to around 35-40mph, put it in 5th, and floor it. If it's gonna slip, it'll slip then. If it doesn't, then you have nothing to worry about.
