My clutch "needs to be replaced within the next 6 months", or so my trusted mechanic says (well known in my area, only works on Audi's)

2000 ATW 1.8T, ~120k miles on it. Previous owner was a younger girl (insert stereotype here)

If he's going to do the clutch / flush the fluid, what else should I have him do while he's in there?

 

I wouldn't replace it until it starts slipping. What's making him say it needs replaced?

 

agree with fish. my identical car to yours made it 140,000. last couple of thousand were tough with slipping in a higher gear when stepping on it. you'll know. let it run. I'm at 203,000 now and thinking about timing belt #3.
