need help with new giac chip
so i got my new ecu in the mail yesturday and put it in. regapped all the spark plugs and turned to key to ignition to let the TB align or whatever. started the car up and it idled fine. drove it around and warmed it up then hit the gas. boost went all the way up to 14 then started to drop pretty fast at about 4500 rpms. after working the boost up my idle went all over the place. now the idle jumps from 1200 rpms to 1800 rpms. it sounds like i am reving at everyone. i can hold the rpms at 3000 so i'm assuming its not the spark plugs or coil packs. also i took it out dismorning and its still doing the same thing and i also popped a CEL. whenever i press the clutch in to shift gears the rpms also shoot up a little bit everytime. if anyone has had this problem before i wouldappreciate the help. thanks

did you let it run for awhile with the car running? you need to get a code reader and see what the codes are, it is very common for a chip to finish off a coilpack. so if your having misfires, that is most likely the problem. what did you gap your spark plugs to? you could also have a bad vac. leak.

sounds like a throttle positioning sensor/valve or an idle control valve problem, im not familiar with these on audi's, but thats textbook for what ive seen in some other cars... its almost like your sitting there bouncing the revs right?
ok when i went to play with my car dismorning i turned the key on but didn't start the car. it made all types of noise and sounded like it reset the TB. after it was done i started it and the idle was fine. i drove around till it warmed up then went WOT through 1st and 2nd gear after boosting the idle went all over again. i went back home and turned the car of and turned the key. car made some clicking sounds then i started it back up. the car again idled fine until i went out and boosted high. the check engine light is also gone now. the car runs great until i boost past 5 or 6. i have no ideal what could be wrong
