I have the spinning door lock issue. Got the handle and all out and this is what I have to replace..but this piece looks a little beat by the PO. What do I need to get this right? I found the Regulatorfix kit, just not sure if it's going to help.

What do I need to replace this? I called Audi and they said I need to order a whole new handle that they don't sell single parts for this. Do you happen to know if VW will be compatible? TY

 

So I went to the salvage yard and pulled a lock out of an A6...$10.00..SCORE, it didn't come with a key so I picked it myself and saved more money there. Pulled out the tumbler keys and transferred mine in to the new one. Cylinder is all set to be put in! Also got some lower grille inserts for another $10.00..gave'em 4 coats of plasti-dip and they look pretty good if I do say so myself. Never had so much fun as I did going to the salvage yard and doing this job myself. Next week the timing belt,water pup and valve cover gaskets. It's going to Top Gear Auto shop for that. Thank you all your help.

 

A6 tumbler is a no go...don't try this at home. Back to seaching for a 2000 a4 bolt or whole door handle assembly.

 

Good luck on your hunt, I'll keep an eye out for a tumbler when I go to the yard. Thanks for updating the thread.
