Default New Battery, but car still turning off :(

So! car used to not be able to start and i found out battery was fried got it replaced and now when I start the car it rises to about 200-300rpm's then shuts off again. I tried doing the manual TBA but so far nothing changed.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Note: The RPM's usually run around 500 when i can keep it going. It feels fine when i first start rolling but as soon as the car hits around 1500 RPM's the entire car jerk's forward and feels as if it's misfiring, when i start it up i often get a bad smile of gas. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

~Mike

Did you check for gas leaks? Gas lines? Fuel injectors?

was the car sitting? is the gas old? Have you checked to see if any of your intake tubing has come undone?

Sometimes Throttle body adjustments just dont work. I've tried them numerous times on my 98 2.8 A4 that had been sitting with a dead battery for a few months and it still didn't work. If you have an ebay vag-com cable you can see if it worked. you just have to scan the engine for codes while its running, and go to measure blocks section 003 and it will tell you the TB position in degrees. If it is 0 degrees even when you give it gas, you have an issue with your TB. I'd start by scanning it for codes, and checking the TB position.
