You can do a dash conversion. I will be doing that shortly and will try to create a DIY for people to use. I have seen alot of folks asking that...Just waiting for the weather to warm down abit here and then i will start project double-din lol

Really nice, I love the red lighting almost fully integrates the unit Very Clean install. I went the cheap route got a not so well named system love the install my Audio guys know me well so they knew to bypass the park cut off. ONly thing about my system is the BLUE light special. But all in all i recommend it. maybe ill save up and get that system instead. I have some pics of mine somewhere. Very clean install tho very clean.

Well with d3 you cant watch movies while driving. If you ground that one wire, then the DVD's work fine while driving.
this guys sayin that if you take it back to the installer, sure they will hook up the parking break wire, however, many features will be disabled while your driving. If you take it on yourself, all you do is ground the parking break wire and voila, all features, all the time, no matter if the parking break is engaged or not. its the only way to go on that type of unit

I was going to get that model until I found out I'd need to keep the mapping DVD in the drive the whole time since I would be passing 5 states. So I'm looking at this model.

That's really not a big deal unless you want to listen to a CD or DVD and since I have all my stuff on my iPod I just use that. But when I took it to get it fixed they wired it up so I can use all the features while driving including DVD which is sweet.

Only thing is I have a Mp3 cd I listen to every now and then with about 250 songs on it.

No one at any of the Audi discussion forums really can tell me but I take it you had the OEM Bose radio? So I had planned on taking the stock Bose speakers out along with the Bose radio and putting in new speakers for the front and rear and a new HU, but what is this with people saying I have to do some hack job on the wires?? I thought that was the point of the wire harness??
