Well you want as little movement as possible.

I run solid mounts all the way around and I can say my engine does not move at all when I go from part throttle to WOT, the power really hits and when lifting off the throttle. This can even be seen in this video

 

I'd love to see a close up video of the engine when you're doing that. I don't see much of any movement, but a closer video would put it more into perspective.

Even with the new snub mount installed, if I keep my foot on the brake and give it some gas, then engine still lifts up a bit...not nearly as much as it did before replacing the snub, but it still moves.

 

and you both have 4 cylinders i dont like every time i shift hard i get a good clunk in the rear so i might go in and replace every mount (trany ,rear diff, engine .....)

 

That's the point of it. It's supposed to allow a little movement, trading that for a little bit less roughness. I'm not a follower of the solid mount myself, but I use the 034 poly snubber and it's definitely not too harsh. I still need to replace my other engine mounts though.

 

Believe me my engine doesn't move at all even in person and up close. This is because my engine/transmission mounts have very little give. I run 034 motorsport solid mounts at the engine and PS of the transmission, on the driver side I run a metal L bracket. On a unbalanced motor the mount setup would cause the whole dash to vibrate, but with the balanced motor it is super smooth.

i literally just got an APR snub mount today among other stuff from ECS tuning, (not having read this post previously). is it really that bad? and does it really not fit well and can i alter it to fit?

I had the APR snub mount and it made my car vibrate pretty bad at idle. It's also not a good match with an auto trans. The slosh box wants to be all sloshy, and you'd think that the snub would help crispen things up... Well, it does, but awkwardly so - and especially under heavy load shifting. I spent a lot of time doint trial and error with shaving that **** down - but the problem isn't so much the size as it is the hardness of the material. I ended up getting a new stock snub and was/am pretty happy. I'd be willing to try something different like the greedspeed mount or what mike has to offer the next time I have my bumper off.

i think im gonna throw it on anyways and see how it is. besides i have a manual transmission and maybe it will work better than it did for the auto.
