I bought an O2 sensor from Autozone, it has 4 - wires (white, white, black, gray), the one I took out of mine has 5 - wire (white, black, gray, yellow, red). I checked twice and this appears to be the right sensor.

Not so sure what to do about the wire issue. Do I leave one off or take the sensor back?

Ideas?

just order from a dealer on here

 

check the harness to the ECU. mine's 4 wire just like the bosch univsersals. maybe it's different on AWMs?

 

5-wire on AWM and 4-wire on older engines. They are NOT compatible.

your front 02 is 5 wires your rear is 4 wires... which one are you replacing?

they are color coded(plugs) so if you have a red end on the one your have it is the rear, also the rear "harness" is shorter than the front

i have an awm motor as well

 

He took out a 5-wire so he's replacing the front.

 

well, i said that, cause he was very vague.... and i was explaining the wire set-up....

my question was more a rhetorical..... and it sounds like they gave him a rear o2 sensor
