OBD2 issue. Need HELP like yesterday...
My cars OBD2 port will not allow for connection to the scanner. It will give the scanner the power and allow to start up and run but it will no connect. It asks me to check the connection everytime.
I have serched this topic an it seems like an aftermarket radio can be a cause. I do not have an aftermarket radio. The previous owner did install an infinity base link though. The weird thing is that when I first picked the car up you could tell there was an issue with a ground somewhere because the speakers were fuzzy. Then out of the nowhere it stopped and they are crystal clear now. The OBD2 port was functioning fine before but now it does not.
I have also swapped to FSI coils since then as well.
I am up for suggestions, ideas, and basically any type of help. I also have swapped ECU and it still does the same thing. I know I have to get this fixed before I Maestro gets here. I don't want to be fighting this issue with it.
My OBD2 scanner works perfectly with my wifes 08 Scion xB. It will not communicate with my 1999 Audi A4 or my dads 1999 Chevy Silverado.

checked the obd2 fuse? is your ABS on, stock scanners may not communicate, if it cant get past a good ABS module, so trying pulling that fuse and scanning. Aftermarket radios should cause any problem, unless you failed at wiring. I scanned mine plenty of times and it has an aftermarket deck.
I don't have an aftermarket radio. However the prior owner did tie in an Infinty bass link and the wiring is most likely less then satisfactory.
My ABS light is on and has been on. It scanned fine with it on before. I'll try pulling the ABS fuse.
