i just bought a 2001 audi a4 1.8t recently from the dealer. He said that you should use premium 91+ octane he said that it made it run better and said that the better gas mileage makes up for the extra cost of premium

 

Think this topic is more than beaten to death.

What world do you live on where that math works? 93 is $.20 more than 87, at over 10 gallons/tank, you are looking at $2-3/fill up.

 

if i had a 100 octane pump around the corner from my house i would fill up with it all the time, even if it is $7.00 a gallon

 

haha funny, I run 89 in my 12v because my parents don't complain so much with the bill, but I put in a tank of premium at least once a month (so it's like every 4th tank) during the time i usually drive my car, but right now since it just sits at home most of the time I put premium in whenever I fill up. Ans the only reason I run 89 is because I have a 12v


yeah yeah I know, lucky little SOB spoiled kid who gets his gas payed for, my parents have always supported me and in return they expect a lot from me school wise since I never have time for a job. But I want to get one anyway next year to increase the mod budget and misc. expenditure budget

 

I do half a tank of 87/89 then half a tank of 91/93...
(not always half a tank but I put 87 in then the next time I get gas I do 91)

Thats really only because I'm trying to save money though... when I had a good job/ a job I was doing 93 always.

 

I always use 91 but when I can I fill up with 93. This topic has been gone over again and again.... and again... and again just use premium, depending on how much you drive it'll probably end up costing only about $200 more a year, and your car will run better and you'll get better mileage

 

We have 92 here in Spokane. Just filled up yesterday at $3.61 a gallon. I ALWAYS use the high end stuff. I tried using 87 once in my 2.8 and got a check engine light. As soon as that tank was done and I put the good stuff in there it went away. LOL

running w/m injection is far cheaper and yeilds better results. If you havent, get in on the w/m group buy

 

ya w/m is less than 5$ a gallon depeneding on what % or w/m you run. i run 100% meth btw

 

why? You should see more gains (cooling and knock) with some water.
