Oddball 1.8t Setup with k24 (audi 5000) turbo setup. need new turbo- Options?

I have a 99.5 A4 Avant that has the following-
MTM manifold
custom fabricated 3" downpipe
A stock Audi 5000 K24 turbocharger
It was running larger (green top injectors) with a shipped ECU, but i switched to the stock injectors and a stock ECU because it was running too rich, and it does run pretty well with the stock setup..
HOWEVER- the K24 turbo is pretty laggy, Low power esp with AC on until about 4000 RPM, which is annoying in city driving. It's time for the turbo to be rebuilt (smoke on deceleration)
I'm looking for options that will be bolt on, and minimally expensive- I'm OK with stock power, or maybe a little more, but I'm on a low budget..
Here's the setup-(as I bought it) I've since put a heat shield between the turbo and the intake.
Any ideas?
