Oil Change on a 2000 A4 2.8L
Dragonrage, I have to say thank you for explaining to me in a human way how changing engine oil should be done. To all the other f'ing douchebags that are really tough guys when they type, you can go **** yourselves. Yes, I neglected to put "engine" oil change, but why not ask that question. FasterA4ThanToysRUs (I think I got that right), I do all the maintenance on my car(s), but have never owned a German car; thus I wanted to make sure I didn't miss a step you slobbering child. All it takes is one a-hole to turn potential members away, and BlueLightSpecial, you win.
OP: don't get all worked up, they were just having a little fun. The jokes were in reference to a few threads that were started here not too long ago by people who (in the process of an oil change attempt) drained the transmission fluid by mistake and then over filled the crank case. You'll have a much harder time doing this as the oil pan is pretty easily identifiable on the 2.8. Only tips I have that haven't been covered already is to keep track of the belly pan hardware, and don't over tighten the drain plug or filter. I lose the little lock screws that hold the belly pan on almost every time i change my oil
The drain plug should get torqued to 22 ft/lbs and the filter should go on hand tight.
And lighten up a little!
