Question oil leaking from turbo...help please!

A significant amount of oil is leaking from the compressor side of the turbo where the TIP connects. Oil is covering much of the lower driver side of my car. Its been like this for awhile now. At first I just thought it was normal seapage, but its gradually gotten worse, and lately it smells like burnt oil everytime I drive my car.

I need help figuring out exactly what I need to replace. I have some pictures I can post if that would be helpful, and I plan on looking at the manual to see the likely culprit. But I know there is someone out there who can tell me what I need to do to fix this mess.

Well you can post pics but im afraid that probably means your turbo is on it's last and final stage of it's life.... pull the TIP off and see how much side to side and in and out shaft play there is. Sounds like the bearing is starting to come apart. How many miles on the car?

if its the seals on the turbo, then you either need to rebuild it or replace it. its also possible the oil is coming from the crankcase vent pipe (black thin aluminum tube that comes around the back of the engine).

thanks guys

false alarm, I think its coming from a leaky valve cover. Fingers crossed. I've got a lot of oil residue to clean up!
