Oil Pan
make sure you remove the oil pressure/temp sensor b4 you remove the pan. that's is if you do the sensor. it's a giant black thing usually attached to the pan. then you just take of the million little bolts holding the pan up. the pan probably won't drop down so you'll need something to get it off. you put the new one on in reverse but don't forget the gasket or gasket seal. b4 you put the new gasket on, make sure you clean off the contact points so no old gasket is there anymore. i usually scrap it with a scraper and then sand it down very lightly
I've got a Chilton's or Hayne's manual (can't remember which one) and it says I have to almost take the engine out of the car (use a engine lift to get it as high as possible), and all kinds of crazy. This can't be right, can it?
to the OP- y are you going to change the oil pan anyways?
unless yours is leaking/cracked there is no reason to. and if your leaking oil from where the block meets the pan, it will be a lot easier to just remove it slightly and change the gasket, to get the pan off you must lift the engine.
