Oil pressure light on between 1000 and 2300 rpm

Hey y'all. I've searched the forum but can't find info that pertains to my situation. I have a 96 a4 2.8 and whenever the rpms are between 1000 and about 2300 the oil pressure light comes on then goes off when it is out of that range. Im going to order a new oil pressure sensor but before i did i thought id bring to you guys. Ive checked the oil level and it's good. I have read about checking the oil pressure with a gauge but what I read seems like Chinese to me. I just got this car a couple weeks ago and it's been doing this since I got it. I picked it up for $750 And have replaced the power steering pump and alternator. What should I look at first regarding the oil pressure light?

138 people have looked at this in the past 1.5 days but no one has any info on the subject? Is this really that rare of an issue? If so, im screwed :)

I'm going to change the oil today and put in mobile 1 fully synthetic 0w-30 because this morning was slightly colder and the oil pressure light didn't come on till after the engine warmed up a bit. So, I'm assuming thicker oil might do the trick. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, the previous owner used the wrong coolant and power steering fluid so I can imagine he used the wrong type of oil also.

Def replace the oil and put the right amount in, that's a good start.

Have you noticed leaking anywhere?

If the wrong coolant is in, you may also want to think about a complete flush of that as well. The generic green coolant isn't good for our cars. When you flush, get it GOOD AND FLUSHED with clean water. I would even go so far as to suggest flushing all the old stuff out, then filling it up with distilled only (don't worry about the correct coolant yet), then flushing all THAT out, then filling up with the coolant/new distilled.

Whats the wrong power steering fluid? May want to flush that too... This previous owner wasn't too concerned about their car were they?

I changed the oil and put in Mobile 1 fully synthetic 0w-30. I haven't seen any oil leak.

I flushed the coolant system 6 times with distilled water before filling it with Pentafrost SF.

The power steering fluid was dark so I flushed that also and filled it with CHF11S. I'm assuming the old stuff was not the right stuff plus, it had to have been very old since it kind of looked like motor oil.
