Default One piece headlight advice??

Sooo....
I bought a set of one-piece headlights from a seller on VWVortex and got them yesterday. The seller had told me they were H7 projectors so I ordered a set of H7 HID's from our resident lighting guru. To my surprise, the first assembly was actually a factory Valeo D2S projector housing which is great, but the second one has the H7 Halogen projector. What I'd like to do is replace the H7 projector asssembly with another D2S assembly and just run D2S bulbs but I think the chances of snagging just a Valeo D2S projector assembly is slim to none without buying a new headlight housing. I suppose I could run two different bulbs but I'm trying not to be too ghetto here and do it the semi-right way. I'm waiting to hear from the seller to see what he can do but my hopes are not very high. Open to suggestions guys, so fire away.....

I gotta wonder if running one H7 and one D2S would mess with the beam patterns?

Thats what I was thinking...I believe the lens is the same but the bowls and cutoffs are different. Trying to find just a D2S projector assembly on Vortex now so I can swap out the H7 assembly and run D2S on both. I think this is probably my best option.

I'm not sure if the D2S projector will swap in place of the H7. Are the mounting points inside the housing identical?

You're definitely going to get a better cutoff from the D2S projector. The H7 was designed for halogen bulbs and is not going to perform as well.

You could go through the classifieds on HID Planet and see if anyone is selling Valeo projectors.

Another option all together is to retrofit better projectors altogether. Another user on here MetalMan has installed MiniH1 projectors and I've installed FX-R

The mounting looks to be the same on both housings so I dont think that should be a problem. Ive read the A4/S4 headlight thread on Audizine(I think) and have picked up a few things from that and contemplated retro'ing the mini h1 but I think the valeos may be a bit cheaper. Still learning as I go. I'll definitelt check out HID Planet, thanks for the tip.
