Can anybody tell me what part this could possibly be?


Oh and one last question could a purge valve make a clicking noise while at highway speeds?

 

Looks like the heat shield that goes over the CV joints. But pics are tiny, just my guess. Also a lot of things can cause a "clicking noise" more detail please!

 

That is indeed the heat shield for the passenger side inner CV joint.
Purge valves click all day long, as they're constantly opening and closing letting fuel vapors into the intake system.
The clicking is usually pretty quiet, and you shouldn't be able to hear it from inside the car.

 

Ok what if i can hear clicking, ticking and its doing it upon start up?
See i've been having this issue for awhile and i finally closed in on what was making the noise and it is very loud at highway speeds, as i can hear it inside the cabin.

Also that cover fell off yesterday on my way home is it something i should replace immediatly and is the car drivable still?

 

yea its drivable. Maybe its you lifters, is it engine or suspension?

 

No its the actual purge valve that's right next to the air filter housing, that is making the noise ill take a vid of the noise and see if its helpful.
