Default Pass door BOSE tweeter

Believe me, I've searched and seen no answers I trust. The small tweeter in the pass side door (up by the handle) is blown. On some threads it sounds like the right and left tweeters are not the same. Seems hard to believe, esp since my 99.5 has a separate speaker in the driver's door for the phone.

I don't want to buy a used speaker from eBay, and don't want to rebuild my whole sound system. I just want to replace the front tweeters with something that will sound as good as what's in there now, and sites like Crutchfiled only talk about the lower door speaker.

Yeah, they're the same. I'm going to have to do mine soon as well.

According the crutchfield, there is no way to replace the tweeters, something about aftermarket fitment requires more space than there is. When I asked them about it they just told me to cut the wires and forget about it. But then again I'm sure it's possible if you feel like doing a bit of work to do it

Interesting. I haven't pulled the door panel, but it's possible there is just no room for a traditional speaker/magnet proportions. I might be headed to eBay then.

Tweeter goes behind the metal wire in this picture, plenty of room.

Hi there, I just finished up a complete overhaul of my sound system and I've got a couple of tweeters from a 99 A4 w/ Bose just hanging around. PM me if you're interested! (Also available - two front door speakers, passenger side has the infamous scratchy noise, driver side is fine).

I may have fixed my problem Sunday. Took it all apart, then used some compressed air to blow the magnetic filings stuck to the cone. So far, I haven't heard my little rattle sound....
