My friend has an S5, and the brushed mirror caps look really trashy against the black body paint and even against his wheels/tires. The brushed paint looks really plastic like on that particular car. He's not big into all the little details, but I wish he'd get chrome to complement the grille.

 

Sorry they are just a preference IMHO they are not audi-esque...

BTW I have ridden in S4s many times, they are a matte/brushed look not really chrome...

 

Sorry, but NONE OF THOSE ARE CHROME... They are STOCK and BRUSHED... The difference is stock/brushed is the OEM look the awesome german engineers designed, and chrome is the super shiny mirrorlike finish commonly found on 22" wheels of gangsters...

 

Have you smoked any meth today? The reason I ask is because you genuinely think you know more about styling and design of cars then the good folks in Germany who do such things professionally under the employment of Audi. It is their job to make decisions like, for instance, whether to include mirrors that are matte/brushed, painted the body color, or ghetto chrome honda-look. They have NEVER put chrome on a stock model, because they (unlike you) know what does and doesn't look right on an AUDI.

Your car is NOT AN ESCALADE, so dont make it look like one! (Seriously don't your Audi might cry)

Its all preference guys, what looks good is purely subjective.

Personally I think the matte/brushed looks better, but I don't think the chrome automatically makes it ricer either.

 

Chrome mirror caps are still an option for s4.. And almost all audis. I didn't even know brushed was an option for b5 s4; I thought they only came on rs4

Please send me a picture of a specsheet with the stock chromes on it. Then I'll believe you...

 

Uhmm yeah I think you may have failed that point indeed because you put up pictures of the matte finish mirrors... The difference between matte and chrome is somewhat subtle but still important...

Also, I really love Audis in every way, their looks and their quality. What I don't understand at all is people who customize Audis because really in every case the stock look is beautiful and they genuinely don't appreciate it. I get it if they want to upgrade things to a higher level but still OEM such as RS4 bumpers and RS4 wheels etc, but why would you put on black angel eye headlights? The German engineers would weep at the sight of such rice-a-roni parts, they look straight out of a tuner Acura... Also all the ricer clear taillights, terrible custom wheels that look worse than stock, airbag suspension that looks straight out of an ancient lowrider and ruins the Audi look, and custom stereos are terrible because they are not better in any way and screw up the wiring so the next owner can't put a stock one in...

But in the end its just a preference, so feel free to disregard what I just said...
