alright so i think i may have finally pinpointed the issue with my oil leak/smell. it seems to the pcv i noticed that the breather hose and little module on the valve cover were shot basically the plastic piece was cracked and slightly plugged so my question is where can i go to replace these parts and not spend an arm and a leg? i dont want to mess with stealerships if possible i know that ecs has some kits available but they are a bit pricey. thanks in advance

 

I got my breather hose and purge valve on ebay for about $80 total. Work fine.

Chances are that you also need to replace the valve cover gaskets to cure a leak/burning oil smell.

 

I just did the gasket last week my mechanic friend were i work said tht the reason the gasket failed was because of the pcv was shot but thanks for the tip! What brand did u get?

 

valve was OEM, not sure about breather

 

I have a almost new one, i got from the dealer has about 200 miles on it no cracks or brittleness. I have the entire pcv system.

 

how much did you get it for if i may ask?

you could always try the junkyard, no guarantees but if you find a good one you could save a lot of money.

 

Check ebay. I just got the piece that goes under the throttle body for like $15 and they have the rest of the system on there for like $30.

 

ok so just to clarify the plasticish part on top of the valve cover is the purge valve? i want to get specific names so i can order parts and know i have it right im new this
