Picking out exhaust

So $200 dp+ $80 resonator+ $200 muffler. Than lets say another $200 for labor and custom mid pipe. Thats ~$680. Which is the cost of like a full catback exhaust setup. Guess I wont be saving much money.

You are saving a good amount - you're getting all aftermarket turbo-back including install for the cost of purchasing a shitty aftermarket cat-back, not including shipping or install.
I handed my guy the resonator and muffler and paid him $150 to fab the piping and install everything. I was catback only as my 2.8 would really suck with test pipes. Not sure where in MA you are but Nick was driving 5 hours from the Boston area. Our summer meet will be the first or second week in August (thread coming soon) and if you come, I can set you up with the shop to build yours like they did for me, Tyler, and a couple other guys.

Ok i might do that. Im 20 mins from boston so should be about the same 5hs. I think ill go this route then. Buy ft kit install mani, ft and 3-2.5 inch test pipe running on k03 tune. Then when i go to the meet bring my res and muffler and havem fab it up. Then upon return get the final 630 cc tune and all supporting mods injectors, afpr, fmic etc.

I want better sound sooner than later. I will temporarily put magnaflow muffler on stock exhaust until i do the full setup. Can i just saw off the stock muffler and put on the magnaflow with exhaust clamp(s)? How many clamps should i use?

audis come with the dumbest exhaust muffler, it comes out the side vs a straight shot, your gonna need an angle bend. I think we used a 45 or 90 i can't remember, into an adaptor because it was 2.5 to 3 inch. clamped up and worked fine.
