Default Please help!

I own a 99 A4 and I took it for a Oil change at Lube X an they did not attach the skid plate properly an it acted like a shovel an forced a bunch of snow an gunk into my engine bay, now my car when in idle sounds like a Dielsel thats the only way i can put it. Any idea whats wrong or if its even related? To much of a coincidence as it made the noise after i got the car home after the skid plate was taken off at Lube X due to it being F&(%ed up to allow them to not accept blame in my opinion.

might want to check the oil if it sounds like a diesel. 1.8 or 2.8?

You could be getting what is "lifter noise". Basically the oil is too heavy to get up in the small area past the lifter and so they are not lubricated as well, hence the clickity noise.

Is the sound there at idle or just under load?

you should make sure they used the correct size oil filter. 1.8t uses a larger filter to compensate for oil lines to the turbo. (its almost as big as a filter for a V-8).not sure if a smaller one would restrict flow or not, but better to be safe with the correct one. can anyone verify if smaller filter restricts flow??
