i need to get my tranny fluid changed and dont want to spend "$312.50" for it.
wat is my cheapest solution?

firstly try the search feature but here the DIY

you will need a special tool to get the drain plug off, it cost maybe $25 and a 17mm hex socket. finally about 3 quarts of your tranny fluid of choice. might i suggest GM synchromesh if you got noisy synchros othewise mobil1 75w90 or if you really push it 75w140 or royal purple. overall all cost will be around $50

this DIY was for a 2.8, does the 1.8 take 3 quarts exactly as well?

yes the both trannys take same amount of oil.

it's lifetime............ j/k j/k but that's what the dealershit tells ppl. i'd change it every timing belt change
