Default PLEASE HELP WITH CV BOOT!!! URGENT!!!

Hello and thanks in advance for reading this,

I was replacing the CV boot in the right side. Everything was going fine, removed the lower control arms and stuck the new boot. I hammered the cv joint back in the axle and it seemed fine, but when putting everything back together the length of the axle+joint seemed smaller than it should and then there wasn't enough length to reach the hub. I've done a few cv boots and this never happened to me. Is it possible that I hammered the joint too much and put it too much inside??!!? Please help as I don't know what to do.

Any help is more than appreciated!

You would've known if you went past the notch. Did you take the axle off the car completely?
