Default Potential craigslist find?

Well, I am looking to give my a4 (or whats left of it) to my mom, and pick up something else. I found this:

http://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/cto/1968813611.html

i have a 2000 audi a4 quattro 2.8l manual transmission vehicle that i am selling. the car was in a collision and from that has various new parts on it. CAR DOES NOT RUN AND NEEDS TO BE TOWED. the transmission is still perfectly good. the interior leather is clean with only 1 tear on the driver side seat. the engine block is cracked and that is the reason why the car does not run. txt to 817-XXXXXXX

*new parts*

hood(unpainted)
grille
hood latch
bumper cover(unpainted and unattached but it comes with the car)
radiator
condenser
radiator support
power steering pump
power steering pump pulley

*bad*

engine block
throttle pump
crack on windshield

$1500 OBO

I figure just lowball the crap out of it, and see how it plays out. Ill be rebuilding the motor myself, and am just looking to make it a decent DD. Opinions? What would you pay for it?

not only that it's been hit and has a blown motor. 500 bux max bro. at least that's how much you'd pay around here. nobody pays more than 500 for a regular car with a blown motor. also i've never heard of a crack in a 2.8 block b4. it must have been hit pretty bad. i'd avoid or low ball the crap outta him. offer him 500 towed to your house or 200 if you take it off his hands today.

This doesn't make sense. It was hit so hard that the block is cracked but had no fender damage (based on the painted fenders and him not saying it has new fenders)? I would be questioning that.

I don't really care that its a 2.8 though, since modding it heavily isn't planned. The cracked block made me question it too. I might as well take a look, and see if there was frame damage, or what exactly happened.

Edit: I would assume he is lying out his *** about the condition of the transmission. If you hit the car hard enough to crack the block, that had to shock the other drivetrain components. Would it be a good idea to take a vag-com and scan for codes? I bet there would be a couple from the airbags or something. What is the "throttle pump"? Cheap, expensive, needed?
