Hello everyone!
so i bought a b5 a4 quattro this summer, really liking it so far, but now that snow has fallen i noticed that it keeps spinning the front wheels like crazy, just like a fwd would. Nothing seems to be happening in the rear.
did a quick check and everything seems to be in order in the drivetrain.
Does anyone know what might be the problem?
I hate to ask this but are you sure it’s a Quattro? There should be Quattro badges on the front, back and inside on the belt line trim by the glove compartment. Power should be going to all 4 wheels. They will all spin if you have bald tires in the snow. What is the tread depth?

yeah i have the quattro badges on it, and it is a quattro on papers, i have good winter tyres with studs, about 4-5mm tread
Well if the drive shaft is there then I have to assume that all wheels are being driven. I guess you could get it on a lift and see if all wheels turn? Otherwise someone has modified it.
Opened the center diff yesterday and turns out someone had indeed modified the torsen.
the worm gear that drives the rear wheels was removed and the rest was welded all together.
replaced the torsen and boy does it drive good now!
