raced my buddys honda and LOST how embarrassing
 

decided to race my buddys 1995 honda civic coupe non vtec with a d16 im pretty sure, with a aftermarket intake.

took him on the launch then failed to keep up with his high rpm's

i recently posted another thread about new coils because this morning i had 2 bad coils.

so that leads me to believe i was only running half hp because of the bad coils,

but although they did just die on me this morning maybe its just me,,,

HELP !!!! any advice? racing again tommorow with new revision R coils OEM

u got automatic?

If you're running stock 1.8t 150hp. Weight of the car and drivetrain loss. Of course you'll lose.

manual and yes stock, thats what i said because his is like 6-700 pounds lighter, i have the k&n drop in filter but nunthing else, somtimes i feel like running him off the road just so i can win lol

Just because its an Audi doesnt mean its faster... Honda's are fast. Would I buy one? No... Do they suck? Probably not as bad as one would think. Its all preference.

I always thought those new 2008+ Mercedes C300 were fast and expensive. Hell no. Just blinded by the brand. Its all about ante-ing up their status quo.


oh btw...I think the coilpacks are covered under a recall. Someone else can chime in on this.

its okay man... even tho u lost ... at the end of the day he's in a civic and you're in a luxurious audi... dont feel bad cuz 9 times outta 10 females would wanna roll with you in ur car rather than in his civic... he probably has cloth seats lolz

Your coils aren't the problem. If they were truly an issue you'd be misfiring all over the place. The Audi has a turbo but not to make it fast. Audi designed it to have an entry-level efficient car in the European mindset. The turbo makes sure you can accelerate when the light turns green and actually can be through the intersection before it turns red again. The V6 was intended as the sporting version. The aftermarket has changed all of that but until you modify your car (think chip, DV, downpipe, catback) you'll barely hold your own. Want to go fast? Add in a better IC, a Frankenturbo, GT-series turbo, or elim setup, injectors, and specific tune. All those parts, plus the conspicuous absence of the weight of several thousand dollars, will make you quick. Until then, don't bother trying to race. Not hatin, just spelling it out like it is.

Want to go fast? Sell your Audi and buy something else.
