Ran out of gas now I'm not getting fuel
So last night i didnt get off work till 2am all the gas stations where closed so i drove straight home made it no problem went to start the car this morning and it will crank but not start so i pulled one of the plugs and it was dry. SO i popped the fuell rail of and im not getting any fuel blowing out when i cranked it with no fuel injecter plugged in. I checked every fuse in the panel and they where all good. I heard the fuel pump had a inline fuse but i have no idea where. Could i have burned out the pump i work 5 miles from my house so it wouldnt have had alot of time but my drive ways on a harsh angle so could i have just starved it is there a switch to keep the pump from running if you run it empty any help would be appriciated. thank you
Its a 1999 Audi A4 B5 1.8t 5 speed Quattro
Also cant hear the pump kick on but dont remember ever hearing it before just incase someone was gonna ask.

I had a problem like this a month or so ago. I drove home with the gas light on and parked it while I went on Vaca for a week. My driveway has a decent slope to it so all the gas ran to the back of the car (what was left of it anyway) and it would not start when I got home. I took a gas can and put like 3 gallons in the car and waited a few minutes....started it and it struggled but eventually turned over. I then immediately took the car to the gas station and filled the tank and it ran fine ever since.
May be the same type of issue you are having.
