2001 A4 New key FOB
I just bought a 2001 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro and the previous owner only had the valet key. I see that keys from the dealer are super expensive. I also noticed that there are a lot of key remotes on ebay. Does anyone have any recommendations for a certain ebay seller or any other option? Thanks in advance.

Those keys on eBay, and ikeyless are from honkong and they are complete junk. Trust me I have one. In fact they are such junk I would be embarrassed to pull it out off my pocket, or give my
Pocket the privilege of putting it in their!
I understand your trying to get a key cheap. If your worried about not having a spare go buy another valet key until you can save money to get the real deal.
Oh there was one good thing about the key the key that I bought it came with new batteries!

An OEM flip out style key blank is 30.00 dollars. And you'd have to get that cut at an Audi, VW or a locksmith that has the flat blade key cutting machine. You will probably get 3 different key cutting labor quotes too. The 3 button remote is 65.63 dollars and as others have said you can program it yourself.
Or you can go to your dealer and get the key cut from your vin number. You will need to bring proof of ownership with you. Sometimes walking in with the key isn't good enough. Also, I have tried cutting metal blank keys from the cut off the plastic wallet key, and that didn't work for me. So be careful of doing that, you may end up wasting time and money. And so you guys know, cutting a plastic key off a metal key has caused poor fitment issues also. Not sure why, you'd think plastic is easy to cut but it doesn't give a good cut.
